Pro and versatile interface
The X8 is a phenomenal audio interface.
Routing through Console, latency-free monitoring, multi Apollo setup (I use a Twin as a monitor controller and extra inputs interface), real-time zero latency UNISON preamps and effects...Everything needed to simplify and enhance your workflow.
I especially appreciate having all my gear patched and ready to go at the flick of a switch (line and mic ins on inputs 1-4) and quickly getting into recording mode vs having to unplug-plug gear when i have an idea that i want to record now, like it used to be with my previous setup.
Once Console was correctly set up (and a few different studio set ups were saved), the X8 became the center of this serious hobbyist's studio.

Note: there were some hiccups and frustration involving word clock syncing with the ASP 800, but issues were quickly resolved with some googling...and a BNC cable.
I use it to record bands (drums or drum machines), synths, guitars, bass and vocals, either live or track by track. It handles 16 ins flawlessly (with an Audient ASP800 as an ADAT extension) and a few nice external pres.
Then there's the (almost) unlimited DSP power for mixing. Was able to select a few extra plug ins as I had some of the included ones already. Nice bonus.

Awesome
I'm using the unison technology and it's working perfect , can't wait to try out the ad converters. Very simple and easy to use interface that sounds great , lots of options with this unit

Worth every penny
Very happy with this unit. Word clock is crystal clear and my synths have a breath of fresh air and sound great through this. Hi-Z input for guitar on the front works well for simplicity and easy access. Overall my low end resolution has experienced a serious upgrade and is clear and present, as well as the rest of the frequency spectrum.
Read moreThe unit itself is sturdy and well built, power switch is solid and does not create an audible speaker click on power on and off. Will definitely be going back and re-polishing some mixes now that I have extra definition and clarity.

UAD Home Run
Coming from an older silver face Apollo, I can?t say enough good things about the X8. 6 DSP cores and new conversion and clocking take this into beast mode. Great help and support from Louis at Economik again!!!
