Side address tube condenser, cardioid pattern, 30Hz to 20kHz, 2mV per Pascal sensitivity, 200 Ohm impedance, 140dB max SPL, vintage-inspired transformer output.
The Tonelux JC37 Single is a standalone version of the JC37 microphone, designed for existing JC37 users who need a second mic for stereo setups. It ships without a power supply, as it's intended to pair with an existing Tonelux Universal PSU capable of powering two mics. For proper stereo matching, users are encouraged to provide their current serial number when ordering.
Inspired by the legendary Sony C37a, the JC37 is a modern recreation developed in collaboration with Grammy-winning engineer Joe Chiccarelli. It retains the original's core design-featuring a 37mm single diaphragm, vacuum tube (JAN-GE5654W), and transformer output-but simplifies the signal path by omitting variable controls for polar pattern or impedance. This minimalist approach results in a cleaner, more consistent tone that highlights the mic's natural warmth and subtle compression at high SPLs.
Ideal for vocals, acoustic instruments, and percussion, the JC37 delivers a smooth midrange dip and airy high-end lift-perfect for taming sibilant voices or adding shimmer to strings and cymbals.
Caractéristiques
Classic Tube Microphone Design: Inspired by the vintage Sony C37a, delivering warm, natural tone with smooth character.
Cardioid Pickup Pattern: Focuses on the source while minimizing room noise and unwanted reflections.
Wide Frequency Response: Captures rich lows and airy highs, from 30 Hertz to 20 kilohertz.
Transformer-Coupled Output: Adds subtle harmonic depth and smooth saturation, especially at higher sound levels.
Minimal Signal Path: Simplified internal circuit with no pattern or impedance switches for a cleaner, purer sound.
Natural Vocal Character: Slight dip in the upper mids and lift in the top end make it ideal for taming harsh or sibilant voices.
Versatile Instrument Recording: Adds air and clarity to acoustic guitars, flutes, cymbals, and more.
High SPL Handling: Handles loud sources like snare drums or brass instruments without distortion.
Vintage-Inspired Saturation: Gentle tube compression adds analog-style dynamics and tone shaping.
Tube Type: JAN-GE5654W: Classic vacuum tube known for smooth performance and tonal warmth.
Built-In Mic Cable: Includes a 3-meter cable permanently attached for connection to Tonelux's universal PSU.
Stereo-Ready Option: Designed to pair with the Tonelux dual-channel power supply for stereo use or later expansion.
