Sonifex AVN-DIO20
MPN #AVN-DIO01
Bidirectional MADI, AES3, and Dante converter with 64-channel MADI, AES3 I/O, dual Ethernet, PoE support, AES67 compliance, and web-based configuration.
The Sonifex AVN-DIO20 is a versatile bridging device that facilitates bidirectional connectivity between MADI (AES10) and Dante Audio-over-IP (AoIP) networks, along with eight stereo channels of AES3. This plug-and-play interface enables seamless integration of legacy MADI equipment into modern Dante AoIP systems.
The unit supports up to 64 channels of MADI input and output via either a coaxial BNC connection or an optional SFP module. It performs sample rate conversion on all 64 channels, mapping them onto the Dante network using Dante Controller software. Simultaneously, it receives 64 channels from the Dante network, optionally sample rate converts them, and transmits them through the MADI output.
Features
Bidirectional Audio Bridging: Seamlessly converts between MADI and Dante AoIP networks, supporting up to 64 MADI channels and 8 stereo AES3 channels.Flexible MADI Connectivity: Supports both SFP modules and coaxial BNC inputs/outputs with automatic failover for audio redundancy.Sample Rate Conversion: Offers optional sample rate conversion between Dante and MADI/AES3 streams to accommodate different system needs.Redundant Network Ports: Dual Neutrik etherCON connectors provide primary and secondary Dante network connections with PoE for power redundancy.User-Friendly Interface: Web-based GUI simplifies configuration, status monitoring, and firmware updates.Compact Design: Allows rack-mounting of up to three units in a 1U space using the AVN-DIORK kit, optimizing professional setup space.Standards Compliance: Fully compatible with AES67 and Dante Domain Manager, ensuring seamless integration with audio-over-IP systems.Ideal for broadcast and professional audio applications requiring integration of legacy MADI equipment into modern Dante networks.
Specifications
MADI Interface: Supports up to 64 channels of MADI input and output via either a compatible SFP module or coaxial BNC connectors. Automatic failover allows switching to the BNC input if the SFP signal is lost, ensuring audio redundancy.AES3 Interface: Provides eight stereo AES3 inputs and outputs on two 25-way D-type connectors, conforming to AES59 digital pinout standards.Dante Connectivity: Offers dual redundant primary and secondary Dante network ports using Neutrik EtherCON Ethernet connectors, supporting up to 64 transmit and 64 receive channels. The device is fully compliant with Dante standards, AES67 compatible, and Dante Domain Manager ready.Sample Rate Conversion: Performs sample rate conversion on all 64 MADI channels before placing them on the Dante network. Conversely, it can sample rate convert 64 Dante channels before transmitting them via the MADI output.Clocking: The MADI output audio can be clocked from either the Dante network or the recovered clock obtained from the MADI input, providing flexibility in synchronization.Power Supply: Powered via Power over Ethernet (PoE) with dual redundancy, eliminating the need for separate power supplies and ensuring continuous operation.Control Interface: Features an embedded web server for easy access to device information, network settings, and firmware updates.Indicators: Front panel LEDs display network clock status, AoIP primary and secondary link status, PoE primary and secondary power activity, AES3 input lock status, and active MADI input indication, providing clear visual feedback of operational status.Physical Dimensions: Measures 14.0cm (W) x 13.6cm (D) x 4.2cm (H). Up to three units can be rack-mounted in a 1U space using the AVN-DIORK rack kit.
