Quality Microphone
I know what you're thinking: Is it really 5 stars? The microphone itself is a quality product. There's a reason this microphone is the industry standard. However, my main reason for purchasing was to complement my mic locker for Voice Over. Promo tracks really like the Sennheiser MKH 416, and I have to say it doesn't disappoint! It sounds great for my voice with little or no eq required. Lire plus
The folks at Studio Economik are fantastic, as always! It's always a pleasure to purchase from them. They ship the items quickly, and the packaging is top-notch! I never have to worry that something will be damaged, as the packing material is plentiful to protect the smallest item to the biggest one.

My fave mic
This is the mic that my voice-over friends covet. It was time. It's got the sweetness but not too sweet. And it represents my voice the best. I love it.

Cool Mic
I've worked mostly in the studio but wanted to get a mic specifically for voice overs and for location sound. I haven't tried it on location yet but it's definitely doing the job for voice overs. Voices cut through clearly and are well defined. Minimal processing is required. Lire plus

Great Mic
I have been using this mic for many, many years. Was time to get a replacement, and I ordered a used one from Studio Ekonmik. Arrived promptly, service was great and mic is in perfect working order. I'd order from these folks anytime.

Smooth transaction - Great price!
The 416 needs no introduction. It's a Holy Grail of Voice-Over and Location Sound. The point is - where can you find a good price and great service? I found a price that was below U.S. retail in CDN dollars. And it took a couple, three days to get to me in Brampton from Montreal. Lire plus

Industry standard for a good reason.
I really like this mic. Yes it is built for outside use but will do the job inside if you don't have to much reverb. It's my Go to mic.

Great for VO
First off, I just want to say that the staff at Studio Economik is what you hope for when laying out a chunk of money for gear (or even a fifteen dollar cable). They're consistently helpful, friendly and knowledgeable.

I switched to the 416 from an Sm7b a couple months ago, and so far this mic is much easier to work with in post, meaning I don't have to futz or fight with it to get it to "sit" properly. So right there, it's a time saver. It's pretty much as described by the myriad of reviews and recommendations out there. To use some adjectives: crisp, clear and "up front" would be adequate descriptions. It doesn't quite have the roundness in the low end that the sm7b or a LDC has, but the upper mid sounds great without being harsh. I only gave it 4 starts because I haven't used it yet with a deserving high end mic pre, but my experience so far is positive. Cant wait to try it with a Grace Design or the equivalent.

Standard for a reason

Industry Standard for Location Film Work... Period.
First I would like to say, bewere there are many fakes of this microphone floating around eBay and other questionable market places. This is why I chose to purchase the MKH 416 from a reputable dealer like Studio Economik. A lot has been said about this microphone from people far more knowledgeable than myself so I will not comment on what this microphone can do for you and your production. Lire plus
I recommend going online to hear the reviews. For the price this is the best all-round location mic you can have in your kit... Period!
