Read moreI switched to the 416 from an Sm7b a couple months ago, and so far this mic is much easier to work with in post, meaning I don't have to futz or fight with it to get it to "sit" properly. So right there, it's a time saver. It's pretty much as described by the myriad of reviews and recommendations out there. To use some adjectives: crisp, clear and "up front" would be adequate descriptions. It doesn't quite have the roundness in the low end that the sm7b or a LDC has, but the upper mid sounds great without being harsh. I only gave it 4 starts because I haven't used it yet with a deserving high end mic pre, but my experience so far is positive. Cant wait to try it with a Grace Design or the equivalent.
