Its five different polar patters (omni-directional, wide cardioid, cardioid, supercardioid, figure-of-eight) allow for a multitude of recording applications and sound design options. They make adaption to different instruments and room situations easy. No matter which mixing desk or recording device is used, the MK 8 matches the input sensitivity by a 3-step attenuator (off, -10dB, -20dB). Two adjustable filters can compensate for the proximity effect as well as low frequency rumbling or structure born noise.
