The reintroduction of the famous Pultec EQP-1A Program Equaliser is a awesome products that as been a perfect tools for all major engineers and recording studio.
Bringing "the Pultec" back into production, the 3U original from the1950s aesthetic use the exact same components and have the same specs, they finally brought the EQP-1A back into production. We think this is pretty awesome products. The boost and attenuation of the same frequency let you create sounds that only Pultec can archieve.
This unit is stellar.
From build quality to sound quality this eq is beautiful.
I specifically have this unit in my dedicated vocal chain and it is not possible to make this sound bad.
Word of advice, it will be necessary to get the meq-5 to pair with it, Lire plus
don't let it get lonely

Pultec EQP-1A
A box full of mojo. I purchased this unit to compliment my U47 reissue and I couldn't be more satisfied with a front end EQ to handle cutting and boosting duties while tracking.
If you are in the market for a piece of equipment that has a historical significance and sounds like a record this is it. Lire plus
There are many clones out there but nothing like the real thing.
Also at least for me the resale value will be higher in the long run so it's a no brainer to go with the real thing.

Pultec EQP1A
I've used the related plugins, I own the TT Pe1c with NOS tele tubes inside, I wasn't expecting to be wowed by the Pultec reissue because all the purists out there say it isn't the Vintage hardware so it is missing the x-factor.
I put on my humblest microphone (SM7b) and ran it through my 610 preamp-1176N-LA2A(reissue)-EQP1A
That eq. Lire plus
All I can say is it floored my expectations. The lows fatten the vocal signal beautifully and the highs brought an airy quality that is smooth and subtle but very present.
The Pe1C is an amazing unit but now I understand why the Pultec EQP1A is consistently being cloned. The Pe1C doesn't hold a candle to the Pultec. Not downplaying the TT in any way shape or form.
Plugins are not doing what this thing does either.

Pultec EQP-1
Extremely well built to exacting original standards. To my ears, they sound indistinguishable from the original vintage units. One of the top purchases for my studio. Louis at Studio Economik was a pleasure to work with. Highly recommended.
