Driving tweeters is not as power consuming as driving woofers.
So why do we need powerful amps In order to drive low frequency drivers.

But there is one more parameter that controls the speed and accuracy of lowest frequencies (resulting in very tight and controlled bass). This is the "damping factor". To achieve the optimal damping factor, we employed a dual mono design and delivered a provision to switch the mono amp, to parallel mode. This configuration also significantly lowers distortion.

In this case we built an amplifier which has three incarnations: stereo (2x300W), bridged (1x600W) and parallel (1x300W), hence the name L-301 "Three-In-One".

This means that one can start setting up surround monitoring with only three stereo amps and down the road upgrade to five or six amps by resetting for parallel or bridged mode monoblocks.
