Lauten Audio Black LA-220 v2
I give that little microphone 5 stars, obviously taking the price in consideration. It's not a 3000$ device so I judge it for what it is.
I bought a pair, mainly for drum overheads duties. I'm very please with that move since they do an stunning job at that. Lire plus
In that use case I think you could throw a lot more money and not be much better off.
The LP filter or "vintage mode" is far more dramatic of a change in character than I expected.
I love it actually. It's a bold design choice. It gives a nice vibe that you would not expect from a "budget" mic.
In the standard mode, it is very clear and modern sounding. It's bright but it has a pleasing character.
I would've liked an "in between" option but nevertheless it's a super versatile mic with two useful personalities.
If I you're looking for a LDC in that price range, I think it's a solid option. You'll find different or equivalent but better? Nope.
