The HM-1x is the next generation of the mic that launched KEL. The new HM-1x features the same proven capsule and circuit topology, but has received significant component upgrades and mechanical upgrades. You'll find high-grade film capacitors all over the PC board, as well as an ultra smooth styroflex cap between the capsule and FET for incredible detail and transparency.
The body is slightly larger but remains as compact and rugged as ever. Plus the shock mount is better and we're once again including a handy swivel mount for use in tighter micing situations.
Unlike most affordable mics, the HM-1x doesn't rely on excessive high frequency boosting to create artificial "clarity". Instead it's been engineered to have a full smooth character. These qualities allow the mic to sound good even when micing edgy or thin sounding sources. It also means the HM-1x can help you add variety and sonic interest to your recordings without having to always reach for the EQ.
Users are successfully recording everything from drum overheads and toms to acoustic and electric guitars, horns, mandolins, grand piano, banjos, vocals and more.
The mic ships with a plastic carrying case and shock mount.
