The DPA 5006-11A is a complete surround kit combining three DPA 4006A and two 4011A, carefully factory-matched to achieve full precision. Even though the standard tolerances on DPA Reference Standard Mics are extremely low, the surround match is even closer.
The specially selected DPA 4006A microphones are matched within ±0.5 dB on both frequency response and sensitivity. The maximum phase response difference is 5. The 4011A's are matched within ±1 dB.
The natural sound, high sensitivity, low noise-floor and extremely linear frequency response from 10 Hz to 20 kHz (±2 dB) of the microphones make the 4006As the perfect choice for all AB Stereo, Decca Tree or surround main array recordings. The precise reproduction, total transparency and natural-sounding clarity of a DPA 4006A microphone will provide you with a lifetime of satisfying listening.

If you are serious about microphones, DPAs need no introduction. Best of the best. I have a comparable pair of Schoeps CMC6/MK41. The DPA are slightly more detailed, the Schoeps are slightly more musical. Totally comes down to preference. Both are great. Lire plus
In my case the 4011s are cardiod, the Schoeps are hypercardiod, so the DPA kit extended what I already have.
This kit is so fab -- 3 omnis and 2 cardiod. Mix and match depending on the requirement. Plus you get three grids for each of the omnis, to shape the sound. Essential tools. Grids cost over $125 each, were you to buy them separately.
I have recorded a number of choral groups using the DPAs on a Decca-ish tree. What a great sound. Natural, relaxed, detailed.
What doesn't come down to preference is price. DPAs at Studio Economik are essentially the same CDN$ price as DPAs are in US$ from a US source. This means it is 35% cheaper to buy DPAs from Econmik than any US source. Must be due to trade relations between Canada and Denmark.
