The Avedis Audio MA5 have a full and open sound is due to a rich harmonic content, particularly in the very low frequencies- even down to, and below, 10Hz.
The MA5 was created to fill the need for a high-quality microphone preamplifier with the characteristic sound of early '70s British Class-A consoles. The re-engineering in the creation of the MA5 stemmed from years of experience restoring both American and British modules, deeply rooted in classic transformer-balanced, discrete electronics. Only the best and most suitable components are used throughout, regardless of cost, to attain the best sound.
Over a year was spent on the MA5- not only on the engineering side of the design, but also in extensive sound evaluation with observation of specific settings, gain structures, and key components.
We have always believed that our ears' sensitivity coupled with experienced judgment of sound is still unparalleled- even with some of the best audio test analyzers which we own and use. In the end, it is our ears we are trying to satisfy.

Pristine preamp
I was on the look-out for a great, musically warm preamp to complete the rather 'cleaner sounding' selection of preamps I have. Many online reviews were pointing to this preamp as being of really high quality (it seems the whole Avedis line of product fits that category). Lire plus
Reviews didn't disappoint. This turns out to be a really great preamp. Warmth is amazing and the 28K switch just kicks some of those sources forward in a hi-fi, yet still really musical way.
Beware though, you might be tempted to get a pair of them!

LOVE THIS
Perfect for nice smooth vocals. Does the Neve thing in a Modern kind of way. Thickens up the Low end and adds some nice neve flavour in the top end.
Tracked Vocals, Acoustics and drums through it. All with great results. The 28K air band lets acoustic and snares sparkle. Lire plus
All round great Mic pre.
Was my first Mic pre when I bought it and is still my go to for vocals.
