As per the Audio Technica ATH-M40x, I find these headphones to be very good at their price point. Not everyone can afford the very best out there. I am including myself in that mix. In the bass, I tend to use the stand up bass in jazz recordings as a reference.
Read moreThere is a "texture" due to the fingering of the instrument that is a bit lacking, but overall, still pretty good, but not the last word in finesse. "Slightly overblown" maybe. The mids and treble are also well reprsented, but again, not the last word in transparency. But let's get real here. At this price point, it would be hard to do better. Always keep in mind, that I have not heard everything out there. Being an audiophile/musician, I do not have limitless funds, but I try not to be arrogant in my outlook on sound equipment, just realistic. Good job on these, Audio Technica. Studio Economik was very prompt in getting these headphones to me, Thank you.
