The Appsys ProAudio ADX-16 is a bidirectional extender kit designed to overcome the typical 5-meter limitation of optical TOSLINK connections, such as ADAT Lightpipe and S/PDIF. It enables two TOSLINK connections"one in each direction"to be transmitted over a single Cat5 cable for distances up to 100 meters (330 feet), providing flexibility in audio distribution setups.
This extender kit facilitates reliable, lossless, and bit-transparent transmission with near-zero latency (<1µs), making it suitable for applications like creating an 8x8 digital snake with minimal latency, recording eight channels from a remote location with master clock transmission, and interconnecting ADAT-enabled equipment such as digital audio workstations and mixers.
