Description

The TASCAM VS-R264 is a professional-grade hardware encoder and decoder designed for Full HD AV over IP streaming, simultaneous recording, and playback. Ideal for commercial installations in corporate, education, house of worship, and security settings, the VS-R264 supports real-time H.264 streaming with resolutions up to 1080p. This compact, stand-alone unit eliminates the need for external computers, delivering robust reliability, multiple streaming options, and seamless integration with common Content Delivery Networks (CDNs) such as YouTube. It supports up to eight simultaneous streams-including RTMP, RTSP, HLS, and multicast protocols-and offers both HDMI and analog audio I/O for versatile connectivity.

What sets the VS-R264 apart is its all-in-one approach: in addition to encoding and streaming, it records video to SD cards, USB drives, or internal storage (up to 17GB), with automatic FTP upload for archiving or repurposing. The unit supports MP4 and TS file formats and features continuous recording by automatically deleting older files when storage is full. Its compact half-rack design is rack-mountable and PoE+ powered, making it easy to install in tight spaces. With support for RESTful API, web-based remote management, and TASCAM's DISCOVERY software, the VS-R264 is an ideal solution for stable, high-quality AV streaming and recording in demanding environments.
