This mic is iconic. So many modern hits have been recorded with it. Personally, I've had a successful recording career using this microphone as my main vocal mic.
Would I have gotten similar results with a different mic? Maybe with the Tele Elam 251, but other than that mic, I can say that my signature sound comes from the c800g.

This mic is the ultimate tool to capture unique vocal performances, amazing emotion and nuance that I don't think lower end mics can capture. It's not a clean mic, it does have a ton of mojo to it, with a big bass and added air that sounds unlike any other mic (other than the Brauner Vm1).
Its one of those mics that makes vocal editing a breeze. No need to fix it in the mix, you add or retract what you want in your Daw, add compression, Reverb and you're done! Usually a pulteq style vst helps with removing excess bass and adding a bit more air if you want. The mic takes compression incredibly well, De Essing incredibly well, as a high end mic should.
If you record Pop/EDM/Rap, this is the mic to use. Listen to Astroworld by Travis Scott, Beerbong and Bentleys or Hollywood is Bleeding by Post Malone, Ariana Grande, Any Dj Mustard record (Roddy Ricch) a ton of Justin Bieber, Shawn Mendes songs, Tyga, The Weeknd, Rihanna, and the list goes on and on.
