Stereo Buss Compressor (Quad VCA's) - 500 Series Module 2U
The VCA is used for the gain reduction and is a very accurate and powerful design, perfect for a number of signal types and musical applications. VCA's have historically been used in a large number of classic compressors. While the SB4001 is not directly based off of any of these classic compressors the nature of the VCA lends itself to share some of the sonic characteristics. We have taken these sonic qualities and have done our best to improve and augment them by carefully tuning our circuit and features to take full advantage of what can be done with these VCA's. The SB4001 pushes the limits and sets new standards for the 500 Series Format. Boasting Quad VCA's, 6 ratio's, 10 Attack Times, High Pass/Boost/Slope Sidechain Filters, Wet/Dry Blend Control, External (Key) Input, Classic Stepped Release Settings, Classic And Alternate Auto Release, Variable Release Control, as well as "Grind" Mode (a proprietary valve style harmonic drive adding vintage color), the SB4001 is capable of delivering whatever sound you need. Whether Clean, Dirty, Vintage, Subtle, or Crushed, the SB4001 is sure to be one of the most flexible compressors in your arsenal.
