The RØDE DeadCat VMP is a heavy-duty furry windscreen designed specifically for earlier VideoMic Pro models that feature rubber-band suspension (pre-May 2015). Engineered to minimize wind noise during outdoor recordings, it uses acoustically transparent synthetic fur to preserve the clarity and tone of your audio while blocking unwanted gusts and turbulence.
This version of the DeadCat is tailored to fit securely over the microphone's foam windscreen, providing a snug and effective layer of protection. Note: It is not compatible with VideoMic Pro models that feature Rycote Lyre suspension-those require the DeadCat VMPR instead. For users with legacy VideoMic Pro units, the DeadCat VMP remains a reliable and essential tool for achieving cleaner, more professional results in windy environments.
