Description

The RME M-1620 Pro is a powerhouse 16-channel A/D and 20-channel D/A converter that bridges analog audio with MADI, ADAT, and Milan AVB networks in a single 1U rack unit. Designed for both studio and live environments, it delivers pristine conversion quality with switchable input and output levels up to +24 dBu, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of professional gear. Its newly developed front panel blends precision LED metering, a clear display, and dual independent headphone outputs, making it easy to monitor and manage signals directly on the unit.

This Milan-certified interface supports up to 128 channels at 48 kHz with fixed, deterministic latency, and is built for mission-critical reliability thanks to dual network ports, dual MADI connections, an internal AC supply with monitored DC input, and optional redundant PSU. Internal routing is highly flexible, allowing any analog, digital, or network stream to be sent to any output-including direct headphone monitoring. Control is available via the front panel or remotely through an intuitive web interface, making setup, signal troubleshooting, and live adjustments fast and efficient. Combined with RME's SteadyClock FS jitter suppression and optional optical MADI SFP module, the M-1620 Pro is a future-proof solution for expanding or integrating high-channel-count audio systems with uncompromising fidelity and stability.
