RØDE is an Australian audio technology company that designs and manufactures microphones, headphones, audio interfaces, and related recording equipment. The company originated from Freedman Electronics, founded in 1967 by Henry and Astrid Freedman in Sydney, Australia. In the early 1990s, Peter Freedman developed and released the NT1 condenser microphone, which established the RØDE brand and helped expand the company internationally. Today, RØDE products are widely used in music recording, filmmaking, broadcasting, podcasting, and content creation, and the company exports its equipment to markets around the world.
