he new AEA RPQ503 preamp brings legendary ribbon microphone sound to the 500 Series format, offering clean, high-gain performance and precise tonal shaping in a compact module. Designed with third-generation RPQ3 circuitry, the RPQ503 delivers the natural, detailed sound that recording engineers and audio professionals expect from AEA.

This updated version of the popular RPQ500 includes an expanded CurveShaper™ EQ section, giving you sweepable high and low-frequency controls with up to ±20 dB of boost or cut. It's an ideal front-end tool for sculpting your tone right at the source.

With 85 dB of ultra-clean gain and a 68 kΩ input impedance, the RPQ503 is optimized for passive ribbon microphones, but also works seamlessly with dynamic and phantom-powered condenser mics. Whether you’re tracking vocals, acoustic instruments, or ambient soundscapes, the RPQ503 ensures clarity and depth.

Launching alongside the preamp is the AEA Snaqbox, a rugged, portable 500 Series chassis built for transparent two-channel operation. The Snaqbox features dedicated linear regulators per slot to maintain full power isolation and eliminate cross-talk between modules. Its durable steel construction is paired with clear or fluorescent acrylic side panels for visibility and style.

Key features like the LINK/CASCADE switch allow internal signal routing between channels—no external patch cables required—making the Snaqbox perfect for mobile rigs, small studios, and live sound environments.

Both the RPQ503 preamp and Snaqbox chassis are compatible with all standard 500 Series modules and will be available starting August 15th.
