Peter Freedman, founder of RØDE Microphones, has expanded The Freedman Group's portfolio by acquiring Lectrosonics, a U.S.-based leader in professional wireless audio systems. This move not only brings Lectrosonics under The Freedman Group's umbrella but also marks a significant step in establishing U.S. manufacturing for RØDE and Mackie products.
 


Lectrosonics Joins The Freedman Group


Established in 1971 and headquartered in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, Lectrosonics has been at the forefront of UHF wireless audio technology for over five decades. Their innovations have been pivotal in film, broadcast, and theater applications, earning them an Academy Award in 2017 for their Digital Hybrid Wireless Technology.

The acquisition includes Lectrosonics' brand, intellectual property, manufacturing facilities, and equipment.Importantly, the existing management team will remain in place, ensuring continuity and preserving the brand's identity and customer relationships.
 


U.S. Manufacturing Expansion


Peter Freedman plans to utilize Lectrosonics' New Mexico facilities to manufacture RØDE and Mackie products for the North and South American markets. This strategic move aims to shift production from Australia to the U.S. within 90 days, enhancing supply chain efficiency and reducing tariffs .

By expanding U.S. manufacturing capabilities, The Freedman Group strengthens its commitment to delivering high-quality audio solutions while supporting local production.
 


Strengthening a Global Audio Portfolio

With the addition of Lectrosonics, The Freedman Group now encompasses a diverse range of audio brands, including RØDE, Mackie, Aphex, SoundField, and Event Electronics. This acquisition reinforces the group's position as a comprehensive provider of professional audio equipment, catering to various segments of the industry.
