Grace Design has announced the m701, a high-channel-count AD/DA audio interface designed for professional and commercial recording studios. Built for flexibility, this modular system integrates premium AD/DA conversion with a scalable design, making it suitable for everything from compact in-the-box setups to large hybrid studios.
High-End Conversion for Modern Studios
Grace Design has been refining AD/DA conversion for over two decades, integrating it into mic preamps and monitoring products. While converter chip technology has matured, expert audio design—including analog circuitry, power supply, and clocking—still makes all the difference. The m701 continues the brand’s legacy of open, musical sound, delivering reference-quality I/O for demanding studio applications.
Flexible I/O Configuration
The m701’s modular architecture provides up to 64 channels of analog I/O and 116 channels of digital I/O, allowing users to configure their system to meet specific studio needs. The unit features:
- Eight 8-channel AD/DA slots, supporting customizable analog I/O configurations
- Digital I/O expansion slots for Digilink, Dante, Ravenna/AES67/ST2110, and an upcoming 32×32 USB2 module
- A third expansion slot for options like a 24-channel AES3 I/O module or word clock distribution
- Built-in I/O including 8-channel AES3, 8-channel ADAT, and 2-channel S/PDIF
- Optional Grace Design 4-channel mic preamp modules for high-performance recording
GraceNet Control & Cue Mixing
The m701 is designed for seamless operation, featuring GraceNet, a built-in web-based control system that works with any browser—no software installation required. Users can configure settings via the front panel or through GraceNet’s intuitive interface.
A 32×8 low-latency mixer is also built-in, enabling multiple cue mixes for artists during tracking. Musicians can control their own monitor mixes via GraceNet on a personal device like a phone or tablet.
Reliability & Build Quality
Housed in a rugged 2U chassis, the m701 is built for professional-grade reliability with a dual-redundant power supply and ultra-quiet fan cooling. Grace Design backs the m701 with a 5-year transferable warranty, ensuring long-term support.
